![]() Our second time here and noticed some welcome improvements. I had a nice time, for two weeks, but will never return. The liquor is premium spirits, and the food and restaurants are.very nice, but repetitive. On the.plus side the food and drinks are very good. The.pool is full of kids too, with no adult areas, so we swam in the beach, which is beautiful and thankfully full of mostly adults. This resort is full of Mexican families which is great if that is what you want. Don't put your clothes out there till you clean them off. We tried to clean them with a facecloth, and couldn't believe the dirt. I wrote on the base of one of them and it stayed there two weeks. The lamps almost made me puke, they were all so disgustingly dirty. Operational requirements was the excuse that they couldn't put us in side by side rooms. ![]() After four days in the suitcase, my clothes are a big mess. Then Saturday morning we were told there were only two rooms on the same.floor five rooms apart and we had to pack, turn in our room keys, and leave our luggage outside till four oclock. We were told they would accommodate us if we waited until Saturday. Wednesday, when we arrived, we immediately requested a change of rooms. No safe in my room so they put one in the top of the closet, not attached to anything. I paid extra for balconies, but why? There is no ocean view, so a waste of money. My son and his wife had two beds instead of a king. Check in was painfully long and we finally got stuck far apart on different floors. just don't lose your beach towel! More Show lessĪrrived at the samba expecting everything to be in place, after all I booked two months in advance and requested two adjoining, quiet rooms. We found the front desk staff were not friendly unless you spoke Spanish, and difficult to deal with, but the other staff - including the manager, were all wonderful. Apparently lots of people 'preferred' to pay for a taxi as they missed our bus. If you have a vacation package, just keep walking past them and find your agent outside the airport who will guide you to your bus to take you to your resort. I forgot how aggressive the taxi people are inside the airport in Puerto Vallarta. Also lots of local salespeople who continually ask you to buy things on the beach - hard to say no to kids. The beach is great for walking, but ended up just going to the left every day as there are too many condo salesmen the other direction. Didn't manage to get to the Mexican as it was the most popular, but there was lots of Mexican food at the buffet. The a la cartes are good also - Italian, and a seafood one that they put outside right overlooking the ocean was absolutely lovely. ![]() The food is very good at the buffet, and the omelet lady in the mornings is very efficient and honestly a delight. The resort is older but nicely maintained, not luxurious but the location makes up for it. Please just make sure you book a room with a balcony as it is a definite upgrade from a regular room. If you are just looking for a small resort steps to the ocean, where you can always find a lounge chair on the beach in the shade or at the pool, and have few line-ups for anything -this is a good one. If you have a vacation package, just keep walking past them and find your agent outside the airport who.
